What will we learn?

This is the full hypnobirthing course where, along with other expectant parents, you will learn to feel confident and prepared for birth. The group hypnobirthing class will really prepare you for labour and giving birth, and include:

  • Birth anatomy and physiology (how it works and what to expect)
  • How to help your body in labour and be much more likely to have a calm, unmedicated birth.
  • Tools for deep relaxation (the ‘hypno’ bit!)
  • Tools to manage the sensations of birth
  • How to deal with the unexpected (including potential medical interventions)
  • Understanding all your choices around birth and how to best work with maternity professionals.
  • How to write a birth plan
  • How to be a great birth partner!
How do we book?

Upcoming dates are at the bottom of the page, with links to book.

Please ensure you’ve read the booking terms and conditions before booking.

When’s the best time in pregnancy to do the course?

The ideal time to start a group hypnobirthing class is between 24-32 weeks pregnant. However, a couple of weeks either side of this can work fine too!

What’s included in the course fee?

The course fee is for you and your birth partner (whether that’s your spouse, partner, mum, friend, doula). It is preferable for your birth partner to attend, but if they can’t, or you don’t have one, you’re still very, very welcome.

As part of your investment, you will receive a fabulous workbook to accompany the sessions (so much better than a textbook!), relaxation audios, a gift pack.

Ongoing support from me right up to your birth (and beyond should you need it) is also included. The majority of clients have found this so valuable as it is common for things to crop up, particularly towards the end of pregnancy.

In-person classes also include tea and cake 🙂

How many expectant parents are in the group?

I keep my hypnobirthing group class sizes fairly small as I think it gives everyone a better, more personal experience. My online courses would have no more than six couples (though you do not have to be in a couple to attend my classes). My in-person classes have no more than five couples (due to your experience and also social distancing).

When you book a course with me, you have my ongoing support up to your birth (and beyond if you need it). This means we can chat/message/email outside of the course if you need it 🙂

I do also teach private, one-to-one courses.

Where are your in-person venues and what are they like?
A room set up for teaching. A light, spacious, airy room.
The Leeds venue – spacious, airy and in beautiful grounds.

I run in-person classes in Leeds, and in Holmfirth. Both locations are really accessible to the surrounding areas.

My venue in Leeds is Adel Meeting House, North Leeds. This venue is spacious, has free onsite parking, and is lovely and peaceful. It’s really easy to drive here from all areas of Leeds, Harrogate, Bradford etc. and it’s got good access by public transport.

A room set up for teaching, with chairs and mats.
The Holmfirth venue – comfortable & central.

My venue in Holmfirth is Holmfirth Yoga & Pilates. This is a brilliant central location (lunch and shopping first?!) and it just has a lovely feel – just right for hypnobirthing 🙂 It is a great location for all of the Holme Valley, Huddersfield, plus Saddleworth and Tameside areas too. This venue is on the first floor which is accessed by stairs only.

What are your COVID precautions?

Every venue I use is cleaned before use. I also use venues where there is plenty of space for social distancing.

Protocol may change as the guidance for England changes, but mask-wearing when moving around the building, using disposable cups, individual snacks etc. are all precautions I take.
